The Birds Nest

A poem about a baby bird with a broken leg and broken wings. Life had become a delicate balance on the very edge.

Up in the sky so blue,
life is bittersweet,
among vibrant colours,
you balance on the edge of a bird’s nest.

One leg left until disaster strikes,
parents widening the edge with leaves and branches,
where is your good health?
One misstep and you can’t go back home.

A wide support network,
still no will to grow healthy wings,
taking a leap of fate seems scary,
instead you’re risking another day of imbalance.

What will become of your future?
Let the eagles chase you until they are exhausting,
silly bird you haven’t learned,
your self belief does possess unlimited speed.

The ground holds many hungry snakes,
when your playing pray it’s game over,
fly high with belief,
develop those colourful rainbow wings.

We live in a beautiful world to experience,
its best experienced in high confidence,
please teach others around you,
let your flight become an inspiration.

Life is best experienced in a confident state of mind.
